Why Is Eid ul Fitr عید الفطر A Happy Day



One month fasting of Ramadan is one the main 5 - pillars of Islam ,   including others are Tawheed (Oneness  of God - Allah, and final prophethood of prophet Mohammed), five time Salat - Namaz in a day, Hajj pilgrimage once in life time and Zakat (Charity) depending on Muslim's financial condition .


Fasting (Saum ) 

Eid al-Fitr is actually a mixture of many joys. One is the joy of fasting in Ramadan, the other is the joy of staying up late night for Prayer, the third is the revelation of the Quran, the fourth is Laylat al-Qadr, and the fifth is the joy of mercy and forgiveness for these. Those who fast for God Almighty and get out of the torment of Hell. Then he is commanded to express all these joys with charity and the charity, which is called al-Fitr al-Fitr, so that the act of charity and alms giving participate in the worship. These are the reasons why believers call it "the day of joy".  

How to Celebrate EiD ul Fitr 

The Messenger of God forbade fasting two days: the day of EiD ul Fitr and the day of Adha ( EiD ul Adha) . The time for Eid-ul-Fitr prayers lasts from sunrise to sun reach to its peak. It is permissible to delay the Eid-ul-Fitr prayers.  1. If the clothes are new, it is better to wear them for Salat 2. Paying sadaqa al-fitr before the Eid al-Fitr prayers 3. Eating of dates or any other sweet thing before going to Eid ul Fitr prayer.


EiD Prayer (Saltul EiD ul Fitr)

It is Sunnah to perform Eid prayers in a large field. But Eid gatherings in more than one place in a large city or in a densely populated place are also valid and not a requirement for the field. Even in large mosques, these congregations are valid as they are today. The main reason for this is that if there was a gathering in one place, many people would be deprived of Eid prayer, partly because of real difficulties and partly because of some other reasons.

What is Sadaqah Fitr

Sadaqah al-Fitr is a financial assistance Charity is given to the poor and needy. It is also called fitrana. It is necessary for every rich person to pay it so that even the poor and needy people can share in the joys of Eid. In addition, charity is a means of purifying the fasting person from frivolous and some mistakes acts. It is narrated on the authority of Ibn 'Abbas that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) declared charity to be obligatory because it purifies the vain deeds and obscenities of the fasting person and makes food for the poor.  Giving  Sadaqa al Fitr  - charity is a reward for following the rulings of Sharia. Charity is a way to cleanse fasting of shortcomings. Giving al-Fitr charity a livelihood for the poor and needy on the day of Eid. The correct time for payment is  after (moon sighting of Shawal month)   to (Before Salatul Eid al-Fitr).





Celebration in Saudi Arabia 

Generally companies provides 4 -days holidays , however some Government offices and other companies give more than these . So the working force of expatriates generally visit to two holy mosques during these holidays.
